What size bell does your hardware fit?
What is the difference between brass and bronze?

Does USNAVYBELLS.COM maintain an inventory of bell hardware?

We generally reference a 20 pound bell but this is an approximate weight. These 20 pound bells have an opening diameter at their base of approximately 9-7/8". Our hardware referenced on this page is perfectly suited for the two bells illustrated in the photo titled "Perfect Fit".
Brass is a metallic alloy that is made of copper and zinc. The proportions of zinc and copper can vary to create different types of brass alloys with varying mechanical and electrical properties.
In contrast, bronze is an alloy of copper and tin. Both bronze and brass may include small proportions of a range of other elements including arsenic, lead, phosphorus, aluminium, manganese, and silicon. The distinction is largely historical. Modern practice in museums and archaeology increasingly avoids both terms for historical objects in favor of the all-embracing "copper alloy".
It is recommended that you do not use brass hardware with cast iron bells and vice versa. Brass/Bronze are non ferrous metals. Steel and Iron are ferrous metals. Bi-metallic corrosion can result when you dissimilar metals are in contact (ferrous/non-ferrous).
At present we only maintain small quantities of hardware for the 20 pound bells in our inventory. Although it may be possible for us to obtain hardware for larger/smaller bells, it would be best for you to give us a call to discuss your requirements: (404) 964-8355
There is a 15% restocking fee charged on returns of bell hardware. Returns are allowed if hardware is returned in original packaging and in the original condition. To minimize the possibility of an improper fit for bell/hardware combinations, please call us prior to making your purchase so we can
